5 Signs You Need a New Air Conditioner

  1. Constant Breakdowns: Repair costs can quickly add up, and you may find yourself spending more on repairs than you would on a new AC system.
  2. Old Age: Most air conditioning units have a lifespan of about 10-15 years. If your AC system is approaching or exceeding this age, it is likely time to start considering a replacement.
  3. High Energy Bills: If you’ve noticed a significant increase in your energy bills, it could be a sign that your AC system is no longer operating efficiently.
  4. Lack of Comfort: If your air conditioner is struggling to keep your home cool and comfortable, it may be time for an upgrade.
  5. Noisy Operation: Excessive noise coming from your air conditioner can indicate underlying problems with the system..

What Should I Consider When Replacing My AC?

  • SEER Rating: The Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio (SEER) rating measures the cooling efficiency of an AC system. Higher SEER ratings indicate better energy efficiency and lower operating costs.
  • AC System Size: It is important to choose an AC system that is properly sized for your home. An undersized unit will struggle to cool your space, while an oversized unit can lead to excessive energy consumption and poor humidity control.
  • Installation Cost: Consider the upfront cost of the AC system and installation when making your decision. While it may be tempting to opt for a cheaper unit, investing in a higher-quality system can save you money in the long run through improved energy efficiency and fewer repairs.
  • Warranty: Look for an AC system that comes with a comprehensive warranty. This will provide you with peace of mind knowing that you are protected against any potential issues with your new unit.

Should I Repair or Replace My Air Conditioner?

If your air conditioner is experiencing frequent breakdowns, is more than 10-15 years old, or is no longer providing the comfort and efficiency you desire, it may be time to consider a replacement. While repairs can be a temporary solution, they can quickly add up in cost, and you may find yourself facing more issues in the future.

By investing in a new AC system, you can enjoy improved energy efficiency, lower repair costs, and a more comfortable home.

Lower Your Cooling Bill with a High-Efficiency AC

One of the key benefits of replacing your AC unit is the potential for significant energy savings. Older air conditioners are typically less energy-efficient, leading to higher cooling costs. By upgrading to a high-efficiency AC system, you can lower your energy bills and reduce your carbon footprint.

High-efficiency AC units are designed to use less energy while still providing optimal cooling performance. They often come with advanced features such as variable-speed compressors and programmable thermostats, allowing you to customize your cooling preferences and maximize energy savings.

Frequently Asked Questions About Air Conditioner Replacement in Sunriver

Can I replace my AC unit myself?

Replacing an AC unit is a complex task that requires specialized knowledge and tools. It is always recommended to hire a professional HVAC technician for AC replacement to ensure proper installation and avoid any potential safety hazards.

How often should I replace my air conditioner?

On average, air conditioners have a lifespan of 10-15 years. However, this can vary depending on factors such as usage, maintenance, and the quality of the unit. It is best to consult with a professional technician to assess the condition of your AC system and determine if a replacement is necessary.

What is the difference between SEER and EER?

SEER (Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio) measures the cooling efficiency of an AC system over an entire cooling season, while EER (Energy Efficiency Ratio) measures the cooling efficiency at a specific outdoor temperature. Both ratings indicate the energy efficiency of the unit, with higher numbers indicating better efficiency.

How often should I have my AC system serviced?

It is recommended to have your AC system serviced at least once a year. Regular maintenance can help identify and address any potential issues before they become major problems, ensuring that your AC system continues to work properly and efficiently.

What are the benefits of a maintenance plan for my AC system?

A maintenance plan provides regular maintenance and tune-ups for your AC system. This helps to extend its lifespan, improve energy efficiency, and reduce the likelihood of breakdowns. With a maintenance plan, you can enjoy peace of mind knowing that your AC system is in good hands.

did a excellent job.
I had my HVAC system inspected per routine. It turned out that $4,000 would replace worn down parts like a bandaid. It was recommended to get a new system. I reached out to CO Heating and Cooling for a second opinion and that is when I met Eric. Eric was very informative, answered every question and actually learned some things about my system that I was not aware of. I had known that eventually I needed to update my 2007 HVAC system. The decision was made to replace my system so the installers Austin and William arrived. They were very respectful, quiet, tidy and had a new system installed by the end of the day. They reviewed the new thermostat with me and showed me the upgrades. They disposed my old system and by the end of the day there was no evidence that they were here except for my new HVAC system which was a huge improvement from my old system.
After a week Eric reached out and wanted to stop by to see how things turned out. He reviewed the new thermostat with me and the different features it included. What a cool system this is! I'm very happy about the choice to go with Central Oregon Heating and Cooling. These guys really care about having happy customers, they are easy to talk to, educated on the system and how it works in each home. Every question I had was answered with patience and was educational to help me understand how this system works. I really respect the professionalism and politeness of these gentlemen. Thank you for your kindness.
Gus was so helpful and friendly! Got our shower fixed quickly and was awesome to work with!
Ben Joseph arrived on time and answered all the questions I had about the furnace, etc.
